First of all, can you introduce yourself?

 Hello, I'm Deniz Aysay. After completing my Industrial Design education in the USA, I established the Studio Ays brand in 2022. We currently design and sell home decoration products on online platforms and certain stores.

Can you share with us the story of the emergence of your brand?

Studio Ays brand actually started when I decided to create a production area for myself. As a designer, I think it is very important that we have a certain space. This is actually a learning space. We produce as we learn, and design more as we produce. It is a very enjoyable process to bring our ideas to life and present these products to you in such a cycle.

Could you briefly inform us about the emergence and production processes of your designs?

 Any form or object that we encounter in our daily lives can be a source of inspiration for us. Although all of our products and designs are under the category of home decoration, we actually have various designs with different functions. Such as vases, presentation stands, lamps, pen holders, as well as our cooktops. Our design and production process are all in one. As we design, we produce, and as we produce, we turn to new designs.

How do you ensure to be original in a production and consumption cycle where everything is the same?

The most important reason why we have original designs is that we can produce everything ourselves. Everything from design ideas to our molds, from our molds to the production of the final product presented to the customer, takes place in our own workshop. We are not dependent on an outside source. Therefore, we are very free within the production limits of the materials we use, and we think that we can reflect our creativity on our products.

As a local and original designer, what are the most challenging things in market conditions?

 We can say that the most challenging thing for us is that the economy we are in is distorted and unbalanced. In these conditions, we try to present our designs to our customers in the best possible way without compromising our product quality.

What would be your advice to young designers who want to establish their own local brand?

 It is very important to try to be a producer. Being a productive person in the business you have established will ensure that you are not too attached to the outside. If you become a producer, you will both add new abilities to yourself and your brand will be unique to you. I think that's the fun of the job!
