Interior Architect Diner Kandemir's Room Selection
Harmony is essential in space.
What project are you working on right now?
In addition to ongoing residential projects, an online interior design consultancy system is ongoing, and I'm working to develop it. After the pandemic, we began receiving many services online, and I can say we've become accustomed to it. While individual consulting and project implementation remain essential, I also believe it's valuable to offer a more accessible, practical, and expeditious alternative to the industry.
What features should a space you design have when you deliver it?
I value the balance between design and providing timeless solutions to user needs. While entrusting a space to a designer and trusting their style is invaluable, I also believe it's important to remember that the user will spend a long time in that space. If design is about solving a problem, I believe that a dysfunctional design won't solve it, and a function that neglects aesthetics will ultimately lose its function.
Is it possible to design a permanent room in rapidly changing shopping trends?
It's absolutely possible. I always say: let's love trends, but let's not be slaves to them :) I manage to maintain a timeless yet contemporary style in my designs by managing the design of both fixed and mobile products. By analyzing fixed products in a more timeless manner and opting for mobile furniture or accessories in more trendy materials and textures, I strive to achieve a design language that is open to change yet remains fundamental. For example, throw pillows and decorative objects can incorporate bolder styles, colors, and textures; striking details can be incorporated into decorative objects. However, this doesn't mean simply arranging the fixed elements of a space. Harmony is essential in a space.
