Use a mild, pH-neutral soap and cold water or white vinegar for stain removal. Test on a small area first. Avoid using products like white soap or Aleppo soap, as these are not pH-neutral.

Dry the rug flat in the shade (out of direct sunlight). You can also leave it elevated to allow air to circulate underneath (for example, by placing it on a chair).
