We recommend using a non-slip underlay for your rugs. To secure the rug in place and prevent slipping and wear, it should be cut to the size of the rug and applied directly to the floor.

*Special stain treatment cleaning (wine, mud...): call professional cleaners.

* Hand washing: It is recommended to use water and natural soap. Wash your rug outdoors with a hose, avoiding harsh detergents. Use 100% natural soap or carpet shampoo. DO NOT SOAK your rug. Dry it FLAT outdoors (on grass or gravel, avoiding tiled areas to allow water to drain), as color bleeding may occur.

* Use a damp cloth to clean small stains. You can add a little vinegar to cold water, as vinegar helps prevent colors from running.

* NEVER WASH THE RUG IN A WASHING MACHINE.
* Candle wax drips: Place baking paper over the wax, then iron over the stain with a hot iron until the wax is completely absorbed.

* You can use any broom to clean the rug, but a hand broom, which is essentially a hand-held brush with long bristles like a traditional broom, will offer the most control.

* Use low suction power. You can use a vacuum cleaner to keep your rug clean, but you should not use a high suction setting or a rotating brush on your vacuum cleaner. Both can get caught in the rug's fringes and cause damage.

* Avoid sweeping the fringes. Do not run your vacuum cleaner over the fringes as it may get caught and pull or tear them.

* You can hire professional cleaners to clean your rug every 5 years.

Address spills immediately with a clean, white cloth and avoid rubbing, as this can spread the stain and damage the fibers. Use a mild, pH-neutral soap and cold water or white vinegar for stain removal. Test on a small area first. Avoid using products like white soap or Aleppo soap, as these are not pH-neutral.

Dry the rug flat in the shade (out of direct sunlight). You can also leave it elevated to allow air to circulate underneath (for example, by placing it on a chair).
